Dan Kazan
Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, Tribune Company
Dan leads Tribune Company's corporate development department and is responsible for managing the company's acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and investments and assisting with the company's strategic planning process. Most recently, this has included the exploration of strategic alternatives for Tribune, which culminated in the leveraged buyout of the company, and has also included the recent disposition of Newsday, one of the largest metropolitan newspapers in the country. In addition to Tribune's mergers & acquisitions process, Dan oversees Tribune's investments and joint ventures, which include companies such as TV Food Network, CareerBuilder, Classified Ventures and several emerging companies in the online media space. Dan is also part of a team of executives helping Tribune navigate through its current Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Prior to joining Tribune in 1998, Dan was Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of Metromail Corporation, a spin-off of R.R. Donnelley that provided direct marketing and database marketing services. Dan began his career as an associate at Mayer, Brown & Platt specializing in mergers & acquisitions and corporate/securities law. He holds a law degree from the University of Chicago.
